This table runner measures about 14 inches wide by 40.5 inches long. It was handwoven on a rigid heddle loom, using sheep & alpaca wool for the weft and cotton for the warp (brown). The length doesn’t include the 3 inch twisted fringe on each end.
It was woven in a Shaker style, using 3 yarns together, every 3rd row and twisting it before passing it through. The technique gives an otherwise plain piece a little interest. This is a subtle piece with neutral colors: brown, tan, green & dark red. Given the delicate fibers used to make this runner, it would last longer if hand washed gently and laid flat to dry.
